About Us…

Next to New reopened at our new location on 524 Main Street, Schwenksville, on August 9, 2005 and has been expanding ever since. Over the past two years, our clothing and toy collection, ranging from infants to pre-adolescents, has grown and we are able to offer personal service to help customers select from a wide variety of apparel. Along with our selection, our consignor and customer base has more than doubled. We accept all seasons, all the time, and carry a large selection of children’s clothing (sizes infant to 10 in boys and girls) and toys, including "made to fit" clothing and accessories for American Girl® Dolls and accessories for Webkinz®. In addition, we also accept infant and child equipment, as well as maternity clothing.

Our History: After twenty years of business, former Next to New owner, Susan Golden, decided to retire from the her store in Collegeville. Fortunately, I was ready to take on the business of enabling parents to dress and care for their children at a very affordable price. After graduating from Ursinus College with a degree in History Education, I became pregnant with my daughter, Madelyn, and realized my life would soon take a new and wonderful turn. Having known Sue as a dear family friend, I was able to buy the Next to New store and truly make it my own with a philosophy and business policy that reflected my beliefs and personality as a working wife and mother.

My main goal is to provide seemingly new and clean clothing that parents can afford and feel proud to have their children wear, as well as to provide toys children will learn from and enjoy. In order to achieve this, I only accept clothing and toys in excellent condition (clean, spotless, and intact) and I research the prices of all clothing and toys so I can offer such apparel to my customers at reasonable prices. When you arrive at the store, it is more than a shopping experience; it is a place where fathers and mothers can talk and children can play.
